CPIM BSCM Course

BASICS OF SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

The basic concepts in managing the complete flow of materials in a supply chain from suppliers to customers are covered in the Basics module. This module covers manufacturing, distribution, service, and retail industries. This includes the fundamental relationships in the design, planning, execution, monitoring, and control that occur. Knowledge of the material in this module is assumed as a prerequisite for the other APICS CPIM modules, which cover similar topics in much greater depth.
Topics include:

  • Understanding basic business wide concepts, including understanding various supply chain environments
  • Managing demand, including markets and customer expectations
  • Designing products, processes, and information systems
  • Understanding supply issues including inventory costs, functions, and metrics

DATES: Every Tuesday starting 1/17/12.

Congratulations Albuquerque Chapter!

Once again your Albuquerque Chapter has achieved APICS highest level of excellence and been awarded the APICS Platinum level of Achievement.

What is C-Bar? “Chapter Benchmarking and Reporting”.

What does it mean?: Every APICS chapter is required to submit an extensive report annually to be evaluated on how we are doing in meeting APICS standards in enhancing growth, chapter development and value-added activities to better serve our members, community and end users.

How are we judged? Your Albuquerque Chapter was judged on a number of categories including: Customer Expectations and Marketing, Communications, Professional Development Events, Education, APICS Participation, Membership, Chapter Management and Financial Responsibility.

Is Platinum good? Platinum is great! This level is achieved by reaching and maintaining the highest possible point total (345-465 points) for five years consecutively. Not an easy task for a small chapter like ours.

Who’s Responsible? Your hard working volunteer Board of Directors! Out of the local chapter membership step forward a few dedicated individuals who believe in the value of APICS and are willing to give of their time and energy to maintain an award winning team to bring you all that APICS has to offer. A lot of hard work goes into what hopefully to the members, looks like a seamless supply of classes, tours, speakers and events.

Great job Albuquerque Board of Directors! Thank you for your time, dedication and endless energy year after year after year.

Adopt-A-Highway Program for Fall 2011

ABQ APICS Chapter Participation in NM Adopt-A-Highway Program
Saturday Morning November 19, 2011

From left to right: (Jim Constand, Brandon Constand, Luke Constand, Frank Montoya, and Tom Dorr)

As a community-oriented, volunteer, professional educational organization, your local APICS chapter is participating in the NM Adopt-A-Highway program.

Our section of highway to clean up is a one-mile stretch between mile marker 12 and 13 (between Rover and Candelaria) on Tramway.

This is our chance to give something back to our community in the way of service.
